Church Departments

Sunday School Department

This department takes care of teaching specific topics aided by the Church manual. The Sunday School Department is the teaching arm of the church. The main responsibility of the department is to teach members the biblical doctrines as set out in the guidelines of the Redeemed Christian Church of God’s “Directorate of Christian Education”. This involves making use of the Bible, Sunday school manuals and other tools to effectively treat the weekly topics. The goals of the department include: (a) to instill through the teaching of the Word, the authority and integrity of God’s Word in the lives of individuals, (b) to be an effective avenue for imparting knowledge and enhancing understanding of God’s Word; thereby helping members to grow in their faith, (c) to raise disciples who will integrate the Word of God back into the society.

Transportation Department

The mission of the Transportation Department is to provide safe, responsible and seamless transportation for anyone in the community who wants to attend church programs in good time. To request for pick up through was up, text messages or phone call.

Prayer Band Department

This department is charged with the responsibility of praying for the church and its members. This department also pray for incoming program and oversees daily prayers.This department called prayer and intercessors for God’s people and to encourage and assist each person in personal and corporate prayer. We do this by praying in faith in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, relentlessly opposing the works of Satan in the lives of the people of God and encouraging others to do the same

Teenager’s Fellowship

This department takes care of the teenagers of the church.

Follow up department

This department takes care of checking up on new guests and new converts.

First Timers / New Convert Department

This department takes care of the counseling, grooming and teaching of new converts to Christ.

Protocol Department

This department takes care of the guest ministers and the presiding pastor. Working with outside vendor to make all guest ministers feel at home. Making reservation of hotels and picking up all inviting guest from the airport until their departure.

Worker Meeting / Believer Class Department

Ministry School for the Church. This department oversees New Believer class, workers in training and other seminar within the church. Handles the baptismal activities for the church.

Counseling Department

This department takes care of the counseling, grooming and teaching of new converts to Christ. It is also resolve family conflicts, advice on marriage and other issues.

Evangelism Department

This department is charged with the responsibility of winning souls over to Christ. The evangelism team is designed to fulfill the top priority of the church, which is the great commission given by Jesus, our Lord and Savior to go out, seek the lost, and make disciples.It is with compassion that we have committed our lives to reaching out to the community and reclaiming those that are spiritually wounded, battered, sick, discouraged, and those that have lost hope and are ignorant of God’s love and success for their live.

Website Department

This department oversees church website and other related church event like incoming program to create awareness and picture upload on the web. Also, deal with other related church programs and event.

Music Department

The purpose of the worship ministry at RCCG House of Prayer Parish is to inspire His people in the worship of the Living God, showing reverence, gratitude and adoration to God for who He is. This department takes care of the songs and choruses of the church. We acknowledge that the primary purpose of man is to worship his Creator.We create the atmosphere of worship through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and via bible based classical and contemporary praise and worship songs and music. Total commitment to praise and worship is our reasonable service to our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, who died for us.

Praise him with the timbre and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs. Psalms 150 verse 4.

Publication Department

This department takes care of the publication of magazines and Monthly Newsletter for the church.

Events Planner Department

This department records all church sermons in audio CD’s. Sales of Christian books, Sunday school manuals, audio and video recordings of Church services and special programs. Also handles photography and projection of bible and hymn.

Finance Department

This department is responsible for the collections – tithes, offering, thanksgiving and everything that do with money.etc. This department collates the monies for banking, produce a collection report for accounting and audit purposes ensuring that collection envelopes have the necessary information. Church finance department serve in an advisory role in finance matters. They also pray for the givers, those not able to give and for the proper administration of the funds. There are two subsidiary under this department, account payable and account receivable.

Account Payable

Function

The Accounts Payable Clerk supports the general operation of the Finance department by performing a variety of tasks related to accounts payable for CRM; such as issuing checks for financial obligations, processing expense reports, verifying financial data and maintaining accounts payable records. The Accounts Payable Clerk also assists with other accounting functions as needed.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Reviews all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
  • Prints and obtains signatures on all accounts payable checks
  • Distributes signed checks as required
  • Answers all vendor inquiries

Staff Payables

  • Receives and audits ministry expense reports
  • Communicates with staff regarding their expense reports
  • Accurately codes and processes for payment

General

  • Maintains all accounts payable reports, spreadsheets and corporate accounts payable files
  • Assists corporate officers and personnel as necessary
  • Prepares cleared checks for storage
  • Prepares analysis of accounts, as required
  • Performs filing and coping
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Independent Contractor Payables
  • Receives invoices for contractor payments
  • Ensures appropriate documentation is obtained prior to payment
  • Prepares 1099 forms at year end

Account Receivable

The Accounts Receivable Clerk supports the general operations of the Finance department by performing a variety of tasks related to the receipt of financial donations.  The Clerk is responsible for maintaining the accounts receivable records for the organization; such as processing incoming funds, preparing donor receipts, data entry, and reporting.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Collect and sort incoming mail
  • Accurately process and record daily accounts receivables

Code, input and balance credit card and direct debit transactions

Scan pledge cards

  • Maintain deposit records spreadsheet
  • Remove inactive staff funds and recurring gifts
  • Accurately prepare and mail receipts and accompanying inserts to the respective financial partners
  • Process incoming cash and prepare cash batches monthly
  • Prepare, process and review daily scanned bank deposits
  • Research financial partner issues for the Partner Development Team
  • Process  NSFs, distribution changes, refunds, duplicate receipts, and various other donation corrections
  • Prepare and appropriately distribute monthly reports
  • Provide guidance and supervision to Volunteers
  • Accurately maintain donor database and accounts receivable document files, ensuring confidentiality of ministry partner information

Other Responsibilities

  • Handle the change of address and emailing staff notifications
  • Back up support to others in the Finance Department
  • Special projects and miscellaneous assignments as assigned

Children Department

This department takes care of the young children and wards of the adults in the church. The Children department is the department that oversees the care of children ages 1 – 12 during the Sunday morning services. The children are taught the principles and the word of God through biblical examples, using biblical characters in the simplest way they can understand. The children also take part in singing great spiritual songs and memorizing scriptures.

Ushering Department

This department organizes the congregation, collects and counts offering, takes care of the statistics of the services. This department welcomes new guests. First impression lasts forever as the saying goes” This Department ensures, everyone stepping through the door receives a very warm welcome to our Church. An usher is a church representative who plays a significant role in the smooth running of the church by ensuring that the church is ready for any worship service.

The usher is also there to provide timely information for church members and visitors. Ushers are people of integrity, who are well established in the word of God and above all, willing to serve in the house of God. “Not in the way of eye-service (as if they were watching you) and only to please men, but as servants (Slaves) of Christ, doing the will of God heartily and with your whole soul;

Rendering service readily with goodwill, as to the lord and not to men Ephesians 6:6-7” You must have a personal relationship with God, having accepted Jesus Christ as your personal lord and savior. “For a day in your courts is better than a thousand (anywhere else); I would rather be a doorkeeper (Usher) and stand at the threshold in the house of my God than to dwell (at ease) in the tents of wickedness.” Psalm 84:10.

House Fellowship Department

This department conducts fellowship after services in the evenings; they have different Fellowships in different areas.

Welfare/Hospital/Hr Department

This department takes care of the needs of the congregation. Also create resources for a member that just arrive in town without the clue of the environment, this department look into how to help them familiarize with new environment and help them with resources within the church or outside . Ensures proper care of all guest Pastors and Ministers. Provides assistance and meets welfare needs of church members. Takes care of the well-being of the church; visits church members in hospitals and organizes outreach events in hospitals and other facilities.

 

Women Fellowship Department

The Women of RCCG House of Prayer Parish is a fellowship that is made up of married women and matured ladies. Our vision is to be “united through love”. The women fellowship is structured to build women up spiritually, physically, emotionally, financially, mentally and socially and to draw them closer to God.

Men Fellowship Department

The Men Group of RCCG House of prayer Parish is a fellowship for the married and matured men in RCCG House of Prayer Parish. The men meet to discuss and fellowship together while offering organizing programs to inspire them, the church and the society.

We welcome you to join the Men Group and be a God directed leader in your home and the church.

 

Young Adult & Single Fellowship Department

Y.A.S.F is arm of House of Prayer Parish that comprises of young men and women who are single and or aged 18 years old and above.

YASF consists of a unique generation of people who are passionate about the laws and principles of God. The vision of the fellowship is to raise a generation of Issachar for Christ that will influence the city and the community positively through involvement in various community activities within the city.

There are various challenges that young adults and singles of this generation face and not having the right forum to discuss their concerns adds to their pressure House of prayer parish provides them the right forum and environment to sharpen one another. YASF has varieties of soul lifting, inspirational, educative and informative programs lined up annually specifically to help members improve themselves.

You are welcome to join the energetic young men and women who have been making positive impact in the city. Doing so would not only give you an opportunity to mingle with other members of the fellowship, but also to be a part of other upcoming programs as well.

 

Drama Department

This group ministers the word of God in drama. Jesus spoke many parables to explain great spiritual truths. He used audio-visual messages to speak the word of God in the language that even children could understand. The aim and goal of this group is to bring the message of the cross to the level of every person cutting across age, race, sex, denominations and religious persuasions using drama, plays, recitations and dance.
